Patrol Division
The Davidson County Sheriff's Office provides law enforcement services 24 hours a day, every day of the year, to the citizens of Davidson County. The primary provider of this service is the Patrol Division, which places one or more deputies in all areas of the County. These deputies are trained to provide information, assistance, and resolution to problems that may require their attention. There are eight different zones in Davidson County that our patrol division oversees.
Captain
Jay Hull
Captain Jay Hull has been employed by the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office since 2001. Captain Hull began his career as a Detention Officer in the Davidson County Jail prior to his assignment with the Patrol Division in 2002. Captain Hull has since worked as a Patrol Deputy, Detective on B&E Task Force, Patrol Sergeant, and Patrol Lieutenant.
In March of 2022, Hull was promoted to Captain by Sheriff Simmons as the Davidson County Jail Administrator. In January 2023, Captain Hull assumed command of the Patrol Division. As the commander of the patrol division, Captain Hull oversees the daily operations of the four patrol squads, Animal Control, and the Crime Prevention Unit.
